Whether you’re at home, at work, or heading to our Darra workshop, you can expect fast, friendly, expert service from people who actually know your area.
Every Frosteez Regas includes:
Recovering the existing A/C refrigerant from the system
A full evacuation and vacuum test to check system integrity
Oil balance to protect and lubricate internal components
The refrigerant gas required to restore cooling performance
UV dye added to the system so any leaks can be detected during or after the service
All labour to carry out the regas correctly and safely
Complimentary mould and bacteria treatment of air vents, including a deodoriser to keep your cabin air fresh
A 6-month warranty for re-gassing only, covering any slow leaks that were not detected at the time of inspection
Please note: A regas service does not include air-conditioning system repairs. If a fault is found during the process, we will provide a clear explanation and a quote before any additional work is carried out.
Many cheap operators skip important steps like adding UV dye or carrying out a vacuum test, which means leaks or issues can go unnoticed until your A/C fails again. At Frosteez, we always perform these checks to give you the best chance of identifying hidden problems and keeping your system running colder for longer.

On average, a car air-conditioning regas should last around 2 to 3 years. If your A/C stops blowing cold much sooner, it usually means there is an underlying issue such as a leak or faulty component that needs attention. Many people are left confused when this happens, but in most cases the regas itself is not the problem. It is simply revealing another fault in the system.
One common reason leaks go undetected is that some cheap operators do not add UV dye to the gas when they regas your car. Without it, slow leaks can be almost impossible to trace. At Frosteez, we always add UV dye during a regas and re-pressurise the system. Even then, very slow leaks may not show up straight away. In some cases it can take up to 24 hours for the dye to become visible. This process gives us the best chance of identifying hidden leaks and fixing the root cause of the problem, not just topping up gas and hoping for the best.
Yes, your vehicle needs to be running for us to complete an A/C diagnosis or regas. This is because we must start the engine and run the air conditioning system to test pressures, identify leaks, and confirm that the regas is successful.
If your car isn’t starting, you still have a few options:
Arrange a mechanical inspection first to get the vehicle running, then book your A/C service with us.
Book your vehicle into our Darra workshop once it’s operational, so we can run full diagnostic checks.
Contact us for advice if you’re unsure. We can point you in the right direction depending on the symptoms and condition of your vehicle.
